Event Supervisor will be the experienced leader responsible for empowering and supporting a team of 4 to 10 Event Staff during the on-site execution of Christmas and SnowDays events. You possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities while being able to focus on guests' needs at all times. You love being hands-on in the operation and seeing the event experience exceed guest’s expectations. This position is seasonal and perfect if you are looking for a part-time job, with flexible hours during the holiday and winter season.
Key Accountabilities:
Collaborate with the Manager, Events, throughout the event to support the continued development of the overall site plan, associated logistics, and event elements.
Foster a positive, and enjoyable on-site shift experience and team culture for seasonal event staff.
Deploy and supervise event staff throughout the event to ensure effective execution of the event plan.
Oversee event operations (event staff shift rotation, daily site setup/teardown, guest registration, check-in, and special event activities).
Ensure on-site surveying by event staff is conducted accurately and efficiently.
Provide nightly/daily reports to the Manager, Events, and third-party production contractors.
Stay abreast of relevant destination information such as other ongoing events, activities, or important information to communicate with event staff and guests.
Oversee compliance with health & safety protocols.
Adhere to all Town of Banff and Parks Canada special event policies and permit requirements.
Report any challenges or concerns to Manager, Events with proposed or actioned solutions.
Other duties as assigned.

The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications and experience:
Experience in a supervisory role is required.
Experience managing event sites (one or multiple at one time) is an asset.
Ability to work outdoors in various winter weather conditions while standing and/or walking for the duration of the shift.
Ability to lift items such as fire pits, tables, and sign frames.
Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift.
Detail oriented with a focus on executing the event as planned with minimal supervision.
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Problem solver who can think quickly while under pressure.
Lead by example, maintaining high energy with a positive attitude.
Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
Experience with SimpleTix or other ticketing platforms is an asset.
First Aid & CPR certified is an asset. First Aid training will be provided and required.
Bilingual – Fluent in French (written/verbal) is an asset.
Seasonal employment agreements can range from mid-November to early February, dependent on your availability.
Christmas event period: November 14-December 31, 2024.
SnowDays festival period: January 17-February 2, 2025.
