The Opportunity - Supervisor, Events & Engagement, permanent, full-time
The Supervisor Events and Engagement reporting to Sr. Manager Athletics and Wellness at Olds College is responsible for developing and executing an annual event management plan that ensures compliance with ACAC and sport governing body regulations while delivering an exceptional game experience for both players and spectators. This role involves overseeing ticket sales, compliance with statistical reporting, supporting emergency response protocols, overseeing event staff, and engaging with the community to enhance the visibility and attendance of athletic events. The Supervisor will also support campus health and wellness events, manage webcasting, maintain the athletics website and social media platforms, and assist with special event logistics.

Key Job Functions:
- Event Management and Compliance:
- Design and implement an annual event management plan that adheres to ACAC and sport governing body regulations.
- Ensure a high-quality game experience for players and spectators.
- Oversee ticket sales procedures, ensuring compliance with cash collection and deposit policies, and accurate tracking of sales.
- Assist with logistics for departmental or sport-specific special events, campus health and wellness activities, and other institutional events as needed.
- Statistical Reporting and Compliance:
- Manage compliance with all ACAC statistical and reporting requirements.
- Submit game schedules, nightly statistical reports, game sheets, and other necessary documents.
- Emergency Response Protocols:
- Develop and maintain emergency response protocols for all sports and venues in coordination with the Campus Occupational Health and Safety, and Security Team.
- Train Athletic Lead Attendants and Game Day staff on emergency procedures.
- Actively promote and reinforce practices that prioritize the well-being and security of all individuals at Olds College, showing a proactive attitude towards safety measures.
- Staff and Volunteer Management:
- Recruit, select, onboard, and supervise Athletic Lead Attendants, Game Day Ambassadors, and volunteers with approved operating budgets.
- Demonstrate a strong dedication to promoting inclusivity and diversity.
- Community and Campus Engagement:
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Department to develop community engagement strategies to increase the visibility of Olds College Broncos Athletics.
- Support and participate in the planning and execution of campus health and wellness events and activities.
- Implement strategies to boost attendance at athletic events both on and off-campus.
- Webcasting and Media Management:
- Manage the webcasting of all Broncos Athletics events, including staff training, equipment purchasing, and broadcast strategy development.
- Work with Marketing & Communications to create necessary communication plan for webcasting and media promotion.
- Digital Presence:
- Ensure the ongoing maintenance and relevance of the Broncos website and social media platforms.
- Budget Management:
- Maintain and monitor operating and departmental budgets related to game day experience, special events and activities.
- Provide quarterly budget updates and forecasts to the Senior Manager, Athletics and Wellness.
Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required
- A four-year undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Sport, or a related field (or equivalent).
- 2-5 years of experience in project management.
- 2-5 years of recent supervisory experience, including recruitment and selection.
- 2-5 years of experience in event planning and management, with a preference for experience in elite sports.
- Proven experience in developing and executing promotions, community engagement, social media, and communication strategies.
- Experience in corporate partnership servicing.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills under stress.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and a diverse workload independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and website management.
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification.

- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to create a positive experience for employees, athletes, coaches, and patrons during athletic events.
Conditions of Employment:
- Work outside of regular College operating hours will be required.
- Current Criminal Reference check with a vulnerable sector check that is free of any offenses.
- Must respect and actively promote health and safety policies.
