To provide leadership and direction to hourly unionized employees. To Direct the production activities of the department to meet company goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Drive safety, quality, delivery and production requirements on a daily basis
2. Provide strong direction, professional leadership and ongoing constructive feedback to Production Associates
3. Deliver solutions and support for process improvement and problem solving in the manufacturing process
4. Teach and ensure 6S methodology to maintain a neat and orderly workspace
5. Develop best practices to improve all department activities
6. Enforce all policies and procedures and discipline as required
7. Create and maintain a training program for all employees in regards to all aspects of production
8. Ensure a quality product through SPC/OPC problem solving and corrective action processes
9. Ensure customer delivery requirements, inventory levels, and budget guidelines are met
10. Ensure compliance to the Collective Agreement in the areas of discipline, job posting, seniority, overtime distribution
11. Conduct monthly Health and Safety talks
12. Participate in the recruitment process
13. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

1. Experience in Automotive/Defence/OEM production facility
2. Required knowledge of CNC manufacturing machinery/assembly processes
3. Strong communication and problem-solving skills
4. Knowledge of SPC/OPC
5. Highly motivated and able to motivate and train others
6. Knowledge of Labour Relations and Collective Agreement
7. Knowledge of the Occupational Health Safety Act and Regulations
8. Requires a valid First-Aid/CPR Certificate
