The Professional Practice Supervisor reports to the Professional Practice Manager and is responsible for the practice and supervisory functions for Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, PTA/OTA and Kinesiology, Speech Language Pathology, Dietitians, and Social Work. The Supervisor partners with the Manager to ensure that patient care is delivered safely and consistently in accordance with the standards set by the organization, the various health professions, and their governing regulatory bodies. This is achieved through the development of practice standards, high performing inter-professional teams, health human resource management, safe and efficient staffing assignments and collaborative relationships with paired leaders. The Supervisor contributes to service excellence in partnership with the Manager, through continuous monitoring and identification of improvement initiatives and teamwork to enhance access, coordination and continuity of care. The incumbent will participate in the recruitment of clinical staff and will also be responsible for the coordination of student allied health clinical externships and clinical extern recruitment strategies in partnership with their nursing counterpart. The incumbent contributes to corporate initiatives and efforts to enhance Toronto East Health Network’s mission, vision, values and goals.
