YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Manager, Regional Finance and Strategy, you will be part of the Finance Department. You will be responsible for the management of operations accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting. You will be key in the development, interpretation, and consolidation of financial and operational data, providing insights and recommendations, which will help drive improvements in operations, financial integrity and SOX compliance. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Lead the integrated finance teams for the Ontario Region to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial transactions in line with Company requirements and accounting standards;
- Review AP and AR, ensuring timely invoicing and payments as well as intercompany transfers and charges;
- Manage monthly processes, collaborating with internal stakeholders, providing guidance to maintain internal and SOX controls;
- Lead monthly and annual forecasting processes and analyze budget performance delivering presentations on financial reporting to site, regional and corporate stakeholders;
- Oversee the accounts payable processes, ensuring that all payments are processed accurately and on time;
- Provide leadership, input and decision-making for the integrity of operations accounting for the Region in identifying, developing and implementing organizationally approved best practice financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field;
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in senior mining finance roles, with at least three years in a management role, with a focus on strategic planning, decision support, and process improvement;
- MBA or Master’s Degree is considered an asset;
- CPA designation is a requirement;
- Strong proficiency in large-sized ERP systems (SAP, JDE) and advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables, advanced functions/formulas);
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and a track record of driving results;
- Strong communication skills that support the development and implementation of operational procedures, work instructions and site standards;
- Self-motivator with a high level of enthusiasm, energy, and a strong work ethic;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at our Timmins Regional Office, Sudbury or North Bay offices.
- Travel to mine sites and the Corporate office, 10% of the time.
