Organizational Information

Join our Parking Services team this summer! This position performs collection and analysis of parking data including occupancy, turnover, inventory, and related information to evaluate the effectiveness of existing parking programs and to assist with parking studies and planning.

Duties

  • Perform manual parking counts in on and off-street locations in a variety of weather conditions and related data processing.
  • Gather data from automated systems (Loops, detection cameras, ALPR).
  • Conduct parking analysis using software applications and MS Excel.
  • Write reports and documentation and create presentation materials.
  • Prepare for and attend public events.
  • Conduct field visits, take measurements, and perform public surveys.
  • Work with GIS maps.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties, as required, to assist with daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be enrolled in a Degree or Diploma program at a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following:

  • Civil Engineering Technology
  • Transportation Engineering
  • Community/Transportation Planning
  • Computer Science (Analytics-Business Intelligence focus)
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office

Additional Hiring Information

Pay Rate: $24.27 per hour plus 14% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays, and benefits.
