Summer Student - Library Assistant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We are currently seeking a post-secondary student (preferably enrolled in Education or Library Sciences) with leadership skills who has a love of reading and working with children to plan and run the summer reading program in the Yellowknife Public Library.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Post secondary student, preferably enrolled in Education or Library Sciences;
2. Strong computer skills are essential, as is a demonstrated ability in working with groups of children;
3. A satisfactory Criminal Records Check (vulnerable sector) completed prior to commencing work;
4. Must be available for the duration of the summer.

HOURS OF WORK AND RATE OF PAY

Rate of Pay: $38.40 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

Anticipated Start Date: May 1, 2025

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
