The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is a regulatory agency that reports to the Ministry of the Attorney General. What can I expect to do in this role:

Our Student Program is designed to help you unlock your potential through enriching, hands-on work experience that promotes both professional development and personal growth. As a Summer Student, you will take on a range of dynamic administrative responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Managing incoming correspondence and communications
  • Performing data entry, filing, and organizing documents
  • Reviewing and processing basic documentation
  • Assisting in the coordination of branch events and initiatives
  • Supporting ongoing projects by handling project-related tasks and activities
  • Conducting research to inform decision-making
  • Providing general assistance to staff across your Division/Branch

To be considered for a summer student position, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Student Status: You must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program and plan to return to school after the August 2025 work term or registered for the fall 2025 term. Proof of enrollment/registration is required. Note: Proof of enrollment must be submitted directly from your school to our office for consideration.
  • Work Status: You must be legally entitled to work in Canada and have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) upon hire.
  • Availability: You must be available to work full-time (Monday to Friday) with a minimum of three days per week on-site from May to August 2025. Students are expected to work the full term, May – August.

  2. Step 2 – Selection Process: If you are shortlisted, a member of the Human Resources team will contact you. Please note that only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.
  3. Step 3 – Interview Process: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an interview as part of the selection process.
  4. Step 4 – Background Check: The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
  5. Step 5 – Offer Stage: Successful candidates will receive an offer of employment, including additional details.
