Salary Range: $17.20 - $23.36 /hour

Temporary Fulltime position until approximately August 31, 2025 (with potential for renewal), subject to the availability of work.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Robert Teasell in the role of the “Summer Research Student”. The CORRE (Collaboration of Rehabilitation Research Evidence) Lab is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented summer research student to assist with evidence-based reviews related to neurorehabilitation. The successful candidate will work closely with the lab's research team to identify and evaluate relevant scientific literature on topics such as the effectiveness of various interventions for patients with neurological disorders, rehabilitation protocols, and assessment tools. This is a 5 day (37.5 hours) per week temporary position for the duration of the summer (approximately 12 weeks). The compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  1. Conducting systematic searches for relevant scientific literature using online databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, and Cochrane Library.
  2. Screening search results and selecting studies that meet inclusion criteria for further evaluation.
  3. Extracting data from selected studies using standardized data extraction forms.
  4. Analyzing and synthesizing data from selected studies using appropriate statistical methods and software.
  5. Assisting with manuscript preparation and submission to scientific journals.
Essential Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a related field.
  2. Strong interest in evidence-based practice and research.
  3. Familiarity with online scientific databases (e.g. PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library), and citation management software (e.g. EndNote, RefWorks).
  4. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R) and Covidence software is a plus but not required.
Immunization Requirements

  1. Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  2. Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing.
