Connective is a dynamic non-profit organization that provides innovative programming in the social services sector. We strive to create safe, healthy, and inclusive communities for all.
Connective is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our forward-thinking nonprofit organization in the role Outreach Worker, Summer Position.
Our mission is to foster the development of a safe, healthy, and inclusive community for all. If you are passionate about making a positive impact and helping us achieve this goal, we invite you to apply and become a part of our innovative team.
ROLE PURPOSE
In this position, you will provide various support to clients within a community setting to meet their emotional, personal, and physical needs. We designed this position to foster learning for its incumbent and will provide hands-on learning opportunities.
Our Outreach and Community Inclusion programs help individuals access services and build community connections while supporting them to develop life skills. We work one-on-one with service users to encourage them to identify, work toward, and achieve their goals so they can build greater independence and more active community engagement. Community-based outreach supports may include employment, housing, building healthy relationships, and pursuing social/recreational opportunities.
Our Community Service Office is a drop-in space that can be accessed by anyone in the community in need of assistance. Many service users who come to the CSO are from marginalized and vulnerable communities and are experiencing multiple and persistent barriers to accessing community resources. We respond to people’s self-identified needs by connecting them to relevant services, supports, and resources, which may include offering assistance with obtaining identification, educational upgrading, parole applications, addiction services, or securing and maintaining safe and affordable housing.
