Mars Canada Industrial Engineering Internship Experience
As a Mars Canada Intern, you will gain exposure to the following areas:
- Help implement site Improvement projects to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) specifically Total Return to Stakeholders (TRS).
- Work with the Site IE Lead to run Kaizen, SMED activities.
- Collaborate with multiple teams including Operations, Reliability, Quality, and Safety.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Conduct and coordinate time studies and analysis to identify and quantify opportunities or shortfalls in the value stream and/or direct cost financial performance.
- Provide analysis and data on bottleneck capacity for each process function for evaluation of potential capacity constraints.
- Perform a key role in the team process of setting line performance standards; e.g., KPI’s (ATS, TRS, MTBS) and line capacity impacting short and long term delivery of safety, quality, customer service, and cost deliverables.
- Conduct and coordinate studies and analysis to identify and quantify process and product quality and/or capacity constraints and opportunities to increase throughput.
- This position and all site associates are responsible for quality and food safety of products at the site.
- Drive the Focused Improvement Pillar forward through the Supply Excellence Program.
