About the Internship / Co-op Program

The Internship / Co-Op Program is designed to provide you with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses within TD Finance. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.

Our Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select roles that will help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:

  • Robust onboarding and training program
  • Lunch and Learns on topics such as Innovation
  • Diversity and Inclusion and Personal Branding and so much more

The TD Finance Intern / Co-op program is a prerequisite to the Finance CPA Associate program and as such, provides students with the potential opportunity to return as Finance Associates following graduation. This posting is not tied to one specific job or department, rather it is an opportunity to connect with us and discover where your talent and skills match to roles in TD Finance. As an Intern / Co-op Student in Finance, you'll have the opportunity to work in one of the following areas / functions within Finance:

  • Enterprise Decision Support
  • Segment Finance (Canadian Retail Finance - Personal Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, or Insurance; TD Securities Finance)
  • Audit
  • Chief Accountant's group (incl. Product Control)
  • Finance Operations (Moncton only)
  • Tax

Responsibilities:

If you are a highly motivated individual and are looking to sharpen your financial acumen and get hands-on experience within Finance, this role is for you. Specific responsibilities will be dependent on exact team and function, however, accountabilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports including external research and competitive analysis
  • Providing analytical or accounting support at the assigned line(s) of business or total segment level to support business decisions
  • Identifying key emerging financial trends
  • Measurement of key performance metrics and success factors
  • Capital budget and key initiative evaluation and planning
  • Cost and product profitability analyses
  • Assisting in developing financial analytical and forecasting models to test assumptions and predict results of business initiatives
  • Specialized reporting and support for special projects.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term
  • Must be enrolled in or intend to enroll in a CPA designation
  • Strong academic record (minimum 3.5 GPA)
  • Self-motivated individual with a curiosity to learn
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Additional Information:

  • This position is a 4-month, full-time work term (37.5 hours per week) and will run from May 5 2025 - August 29th 2025
