YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a 16 Month Term from May 2025 to August 2026. The position is based at the Saskatoon office.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer Projects in the Project Engineering Department, this position will be responsible for engineering support of projects in various states of conception including feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning. The role will assist the technical leads, project engineers, and project managers of the multidiscipline Capital Projects team for the Bethune K+S Potash Mine.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide overall support for engineering deliverables including design reviews, performing engineering checks, vendor drawing reviews, and site inspections.
- Coordinate with technical experts, discipline leads and senior engineers in relation to assigned tasks.
- Collect field data and collaborate with site personnel gaining hands-on experience within the solution mining sector.
- Prepare technical reports, scope of work, studies, and design details.
- Learn and apply applicable engineering practices.
- Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, and AVEVA.
- Assist with the development of documents including engineering specifications, feasibility studies, trade-offs, and technical decision records.
- Manage project definition and progress.
- Report on project details and provide status updates.
- Integrate cross-discipline design details.
- Analyze safety hazards and risks pertaining to projects.
YOUR PROFILE

- Authorization to legally work in Canada.
- Currently enrolled in second or third-year post-secondary studies in engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Returning to full-time studies.
- Hold a valid driver's license as travel is required.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration with team members across several disciplines is essential in the role.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated capacity for critical and creative thinking along with a solution focus.
- Results-oriented with a self-starter mindset.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Previous potash and solution mining experience would be considered an asset.
- Previous engineering co-op work experience will be considered a plus.
