About the Role

The Project Accounting team is looking for a student to work closely with the team for the Summer 2025 term. The Student will be part of a collaborative team of accounting professionals working together in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial information for Brookfield Renewable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in and support the team in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close process;
  • Learn Brookfield Renewable processes and propose improvements;
  • Review general ledger account activities to ensure accuracy and make corrective journal entries;
  • Maintain and reconcile monthly general ledger reconciliations;
  • Generate monthly financial reports;
  • Prepare weekly bank reconciliations;
  • Provide support to the Manager in various related activities;
  • Provide quarterly audit support to auditor questions and requests.

Knowledge Required

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program;
  • Completed first year university studies in Commerce/Business Administration (preferably 3rd or 4th year with a concentration in Accounting).
  • Financial/Accounting knowledge and preferably some familiarity in IFRS or US GAAP;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Knowledge of accounting systems like D365 and One Stream is considered an asset.

Note: This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively.
