About the Role: The Business Services’ Cyber Security group is looking for a student full-time for the Fall 2025 co-op term. The student’s primary responsibilities will be focused on supporting various business applications within the cyber security team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist experienced team members with Information Security activities as assigned, including Threat Intelligence and Security Alert Monitoring for Brookfield’s Cloud and on-premises network.
  • Based on alert trigger, conduct technical analysis to determine impact, scope, response and root cause.
  • Assist in the review, analysis, and documentation of system, network, and application security vulnerabilities. Recommend remedial actions and work with system owners to develop plans and timelines to address findings.
  • Assist Brookfield employees in identifying PHISHING emails in a timely manner.
  • Assist in administering phishing campaigns as well as new hire cybersecurity training.

Knowledge Required:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary education program (Study programs include work experience as part of the curriculum).
  • Completed first year university or college studies in Computer Science or Programming.
  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other IT-related field of study at an accredited institution.
  • Exposure to or familiarity with Cloud computing, network perimeter security (Firewall, IDS/IPS, etc.), operating system hardening (Linux, Windows), and security tools (Antivirus/Malware, SIEM, Email security, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles (C.I.A, Least Privilege, Need to Know, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with a technical or non-technical audience.

Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively.
