WSP is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our growing Saskatchewan Structural Engineering team, located in either Regina or Saskatoon. This team is part of our Canada-wide Structural practice with over 200 team members working in an integrated practice from coast to coast.

A day in the life...
- Perform engineering calculations and assessments for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
- Manage projects and coordinate with clients and other disciplines.
- Plan, execute, and control the project through all phases from initial feasibility through preliminary design, detailed design, and construction.
- Ensure project performance with direct responsibility for service delivery and technical quality to the client.
- Provide coaching to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Check work of assigned staff, suppliers, and contractors for accuracy and conformance with WSP national standards.
- Bring broad field of engineering and practical knowledge to perform varied engineering assignments, assessments, and reports.
- Use judgment to resolve problems, interpret engineering specifications, and coordinate work schedules.
- Provide recommendations to clients when changes in plans are needed.
- Collaborate with associates in other departments to discuss and advise on project requirements.
- Consult with suppliers or contractors to interpret specifications.
- Develop work plans in alignment with the client's needs.
- Maintain key client relationships effectively.
- Occasional travel within Canada for site assessments and site support.
What you'll bring to WSP ...
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer with the APEGS or ability to become registered.
- 5+ years of similar relevant experience.
- Experience in the design of new and renovation projects for a variety of project types including Institutional, Commercial, Residential, Transportation, Health Care, and Light Industrial.
- Understanding of other building disciplines and fields of engineering.
- Excellent knowledge of structural theory and Canadian design standards.
- Seismic analysis and design experience an asset.
- Experience as a prime consultant as well as a sub-consultant working with Architects desirable.
- Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, and RamSteel an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
