Our client, a large EPC, is looking for a junior/intermediate Structural Engineer to join their Calgary team. This individual will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process facilities, corporate, industrial, and manufacturing. The Structural Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs. They will be responsible for stamping on civil/structural designs of terminals and facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Perform civil and structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  2. Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, and industrial facilities.
  3. Apply strong knowledge of commonly used civil and structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the civil engineering services industry.
  4. Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the Civil and Steel packages design of power and process facilities.
  5. Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
  6. Able to coordinate with high-value engineering centers.
  7. Review vendor packages affecting steel design.
  8. Able to work independently as area lead to design civil and structures within the area or as required by project.

Skills & Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

  1. 4-7 years experience as a Structural Engineer
  2. P.Eng in AB
  3. Oil & gas background
  4. Comes from an EPC environment
  5. Experience working on facilities, terminals specifically
  6. Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  7. Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, Tekla, Smart plant 3D, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, RISA-3D).

NICE TO HAVE:

  1. Previous experience working in Alberta or Canada.

SOFT SKILLS:

  1. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
