Structural Engineer

This role will be based in Calgary, AB.
Your role within the team:
- Establish design criteria related to the area of assignment, based upon specified contractual requirements and in line with good engineering practices.
- Perform design of Structural works, including buildings, structures, and foundations.
- Prepare engineering calculations as required, and have them checked, approved, and filed in line with the relevant quality system procedure.
- Prepare technical specifications and supervise the preparation of drawings.
- Prepare proposals, feasibility studies, conceptual design, engineering estimates, and schedules.
- Work with the project team through the various project stages from conceptual design to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
- Perform conceptual and peer reviews of engineering designs, drawings, and reports.

The ideal candidate:
- A degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
- EGBC Professional Engineer registration or eligibility for registration.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in computerized design of Civil Structural Engineering infrastructure.
- Experience in preparation of clear and comprehensive reports, technical notes, and client presentations.
- An industry professional with experience in power transmission and distribution facilities, renewable power plants, and heavy industrial facilities.
- In-depth design experience in buildings, structural steel, concrete, masonry, architectural and plant site civil works using Canadian and US design codes and standards, including the analysis and design of foundations for heavy rotating equipment.
- Ability to work without supervision and to prioritize multiple and multidisciplinary projects.
- Proficiency with Revit software is considered an asset.
- A strong technical capability, high productivity, attention to detail, and an ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with STAAD.Pro, DYNA6.1, PCA design programs, and MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a positive problem-solving and collaborative approach.
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and technical writing skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. French language skill is considered an asset.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $94,000 - $128,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
