Your Opportunity

Our team of Planners, Engineers, and Contract Administrators deliver infrastructure solutions that drive economic growth and social prosperity.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Act as lead designer for small and medium-sized engineering assignments, with the intent to develop skills towards a future project manager/technical lead role for larger projects.
- Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, construction, and post-construction review.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines including highway/road, electrical, drainage, and environmental planning.
- Analyze and evaluate appropriate design solutions and design of transportation structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundations.
- Direct CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables before submission to the client.
- Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates.
- Provide tender evaluations and/or construction engineering services.
- Work within assigned project budgets and schedules.
- Mentor junior staff with regard to project work.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Interest in working both in the office and field environment.
- Ability to perform outdoor physical duties while doing bridge inspection work.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with CAD and SAP2000, CSiBridge, and SFRAME.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Able to work in a team environment and excel in both bridge and multi-disciplined projects.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to mentor the technical development of others.
- Works well with minimal direct supervision.
- Exercises independent judgment.
Education and Experience
- B.ASc. or B.Eng. in Civil/Structural Engineering, with strong interest and experience in structures, particularly bridges.
- P.Eng. status and minimum 4 years of proven experience in design using Canadian codes and design standards.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Fieldwork may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
