As a Security Guard in a Strip Mall setting, there is a high focus on customer service, exterior patrolling, and de-escalation since you will be working with people in all shifts in a Strip Mall environment and make sure they are safe.

Responsibilities for Strip Mall Security Guard

• Customer service duties like welcoming, verifying identity, and guiding visitors
• Performing constant exterior foot patrol at the premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence and remove any panhandlers
• Inspect security equipment and report any maintenance needs
• Deter any criminal activity
• Engage in visible deterrence through their presence and by adhering to security procedures
• Respond to various emergencies, such as fires, medical incidents, or security breaches
• Protect the client's assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues
• Complete daily reports and incident reports
• Enforce property regulations and city by-laws on the client's site
• Respond to incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
• Write incident reports and communicate security concerns

Qualifications for Strip Mall Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid Manitoba security license
• Tactical experience (an asset for this site)
• Be able to work outside
• Leadership and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a stressful environment
• First aid certification an asset
• Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
