About Our Operation

The Support and Development Center provides services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and/or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).


Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Manager Strategic Sourcing, your role consists of being a key member of the Strategic Sourcing team for the Canadian Operations of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited. You will oversee the procurement cycle for strategic sourcing activities to deliver cost savings and operational performance through methodologies such as category analysis, defining sourcing strategy, tendering, negotiation and contract implementation and Supplier Governance.


You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.


  1. Responsible for the procurement planning, tendering, and evaluation of bids;
  2. Responsible for ensuring that AEM processes and procedures are being followed as it relates to procurement activity;
  3. Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Construction in developing bid packages/scopes of works;
  4. Ensure that goods and services will be procured for the most economically beneficial price which meets the specified requirements relative to the scope of work, quality, and schedule;
  5. Ensure terms & conditions of applicable IBA’s are followed.

What You Need To Succeed

  1. College or Bachelor’s degree in one of these sectors (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Law, Sales, Marketing) or appropriate work experience;
  2. A procurement certification (CSCP, CPP, CMA or CPSM) is an asset;
  3. Experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry (mining experience is an asset);
  4. Cultural awareness and understanding of work in Aboriginal communities is an asset;
  5. Must have strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills;
  6. Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  7. Strong ability to effectively communicate in English and French (oral and written) is an asset.

Your Work Schedule

  1. Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule or 5-2 depending on local policy and may change to suit business needs;
  2. Workplace: A combination of remote work and on-site work at one of our offices in Val-d’Or, Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay, Sudbury, Toronto, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, as per Company’s policies;
  3. Travel: 30% travel to mining sites, other offices, or suppliers.
