Job Title: Strategic Finance Consultant (Part-Time or Potential Full-Time)
Client: A growing real estate investment and property management firm
Compensation: Approx. $75/hour or $150K FTE (flexible depending on experience)
Our client, a dynamic and growing real estate investment and property management group, is seeking a seasoned finance professional to support their leadership team on a part-time basis (3–4 days per week). This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep operational accounting experience — someone who can guide systems improvement, support governance, and mentor internal staff, while staying hands-on enough to execute and implement.
There is also potential for this position to grow into a full-time role if the right candidate brings additional strategic value.
Corporate Governance & Leadership
Provide strategic support to the President and finance leadership in planning, financial oversight, and internal controls
Lead or advise on governance structures, reporting improvements, and cross-functional collaboration
Work with senior management to align financial strategy with business growth goals
Systems & Process Enhancement
Assess current financial systems and recommend or lead improvements for increased efficiency
Participate in or oversee software implementations and process streamlining
Support clean-up and catch-up work, ensuring accurate and timely financial data
Mentor and coach the existing Controller and accounting staff
Build capacity within the team through documentation, support, and process clarity
Offer senior-level judgment while encouraging a culture of continuous improvement
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and reporting where needed
Engage with both strategic projects and operational support without an “ivory tower” approach
Be the steadying hand during transitions, growth, or systems changes
CPA, CA or CPA, CMA/CGA designation
10+ years of progressive finance experience, with recent experience in real estate, property management, construction, or asset-based organizations
Track record of strategic financial leadership in growing businesses
Experience in mentoring teams, improving reporting systems, and driving governance
Confident in dealing with both high-level planning and ground-level execution
Proficient in modern ERP or accounting systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, Yardi, QuickBooks, etc.)
Comfortable in a flexible, evolving role that could expand in scope
Part-time schedule with flexibility and potential to grow into a broader role
