Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As a Store Planner you play a crucial role in connecting store level sales plans back to financial and merchandise plans. Working with product leadership, you will lead the work to build out a localization strategy linking back to the overall merchandise strategy. Your ability to understand store operations from the perspective of sales, inventory, and sell-thru makes you an ideal representative of our retail stores within the Merchandising and Merchandise Planning & Allocations teams. This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Meet Your Future Team:
Store Planning is a new function at Arc’teryx, and you will have the opportunity to work alongside the Senior Manager to stand-up this important new capability. We envision store planning as a highly agile team who will each respectively own one of our core markets and work closely with their partners in Merchandise Planning and Allocations to ensure our sales and inventory plans align.
If you were in the Store Planner role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Working with the Senior Manager to develop foundational documentation
- Supporting the development of our store-level sales planning tools and end to end processes
- Developing our store tiering, clustering and attribution to create a profile for all existing and future doors
- Building pre-season and in-season store level sales plans to drive accurate demand curves for each region and product group
- Refining current store tiers to support the merchandise product strategy
- Working with cross functional partners to develop and refine a clustering strategy
- Understanding store performance through the lens of product, capturing opportunities to increase both store and product level productivity across the store fleet
- Maintaining published documentation for use by Store Planning and cross-functional partners
- Working with Finance, Commercial, and Store Development on New Store Openings
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Providing input to Merchandise Planning that helps inform their buy planning by store cluster including APS actuals, attributes, and localized needs
- Collaborating cross-functionally on new store opening projects to optimize site selection and build out
- Providing opening inventory targets for New Store Openings and collaborating cross-functionally to monitor and adjust as needed
Are you our next Store Planner?
- You have a post secondary degree in a relevant field
- You have 2-3 years of experience in Store Planning, Merchandise Planning, Allocations, or a related sales planning function (EG: FP&A)
- You have 3-5 years of experience in a vertical retail environment
- You demonstrate a deep understanding of retail operations and inventory management practices
- You have experience in data-driven sales planning within a retail environment.
- You excel at collaborating cross-functionally and are adept at using data and market insights to drive alignment and decision-making
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You lead from a place of empathy and are comfortable giving and receiving feedback and strive for continual improvement in the work of your team.
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$80,000 - CAD$100,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
