Stopping the Violence Counsellor

Salary: based on experience range between $34-38/hour

Terms: Temporary P/T

Start Date: May 7, 2025

Requirements:

1. Relevant Master’s degree an asset (Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Counselling Psychology).
2. At least 2 years relevant counselling experience.
3. Ability to work with individuals within a client-centred, strength-based approach.
4. Emergency first aid with CPR B.
5. Criminal Record Check.

Duties:

1. Undertake intake assessments from a trauma informed approach.
2. Work in collaboration with clients to develop, monitor and evaluate case plans.
3. Provide individual and group therapy to women (including trans and cis women, or any non-binary/gender-nonconforming person comfortable receiving services at the Centre).
4. Utilize a variety of specialized treatment modalities and therapies for clients.
5. Approach therapy from a culture-infused perspective.
6. Complete risk assessments and take appropriate action.
7. Maintain appropriate clinical, client, and administrative records.
