$47,300 - $57,000 per year, full-time permanent, generous benefits package

We are looking for a STEM Specialist to join our Youth Engagement team to lead, create and deliver amazing and enriching programming for our After-School Science Kids program!

As the STEM Specialist A.S.K you’ll help manage our After-School Science Kids program and collaborate with a cool and creative team to design interactive science activities that spark curiosity and inspire a passion for learning. You’ll collaborate with and support a team of professionals from across the organization to support youth engagement in all of Northern Ontario.

Position Highlights:

  • Lead the Science North After-School Kids Program including planning, preparing, and implementing developmentally appropriate programs and activities that revolve around science, technology, and art
  • Support the Youth Engagement team in the delivery of in-person specialty programs such as Summer Camps, PA Days, Holiday Camps and March Break programs
  • Work with a team of marketing professionals to promote and market programs
  • Lead and monitor registrations and oversee registrations and participant inquiries
  • Recruit, train and coach a diverse team of program deliverers
  • Ensure health and safety of all participants and staff
  • Monitor, evaluate, obtain and act on participant feedback
  • Write scripts, signage and content for programs
  • Liaise with parents/guardians, respond to inquiries
  • Manage and control area expenditures and submit financial reporting
  • Proactively identify needs/issues and problem solve/establish solutions, address complaints/concerns
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and liaise with Ministry of Education representatives as needed
  • Compile reports, maintain programming information and other required information

What you Bring:

  • Registered Early Childhood Educator (can also be Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), Rec and Leisure degree, Child and Youth Worker)
  • Two years of supervisory/childcare experience
  • Experience with, and under, the Child Care and Early Years Act
  • Ability to submit a recent (less than 3 months old at date of submission) Criminal Background Check and proof of immunization (including a 2 Step Tuberculosis test) prior to beginning employment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Engaging presentation and program delivery skills
  • A positive and fun attitude with demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Proven ability to embrace teamwork yet be self-motivated
  • Exemplary aptitude for problem-solving and resourcefulness
  • A passion for learning and enthusiasm to take on challenges
  • Valid G driver’s license reflecting a 3-year clean driving abstract, non-negotiable

Compensation Highlights:

  • Competitive salary starting at $47,300 to $57,000 per year

This position is based at 100 Ramsey Lake Road, Sudbury ON and is not suitable for remote or hybrid work. Work is predominantly Monday-Friday with some weekend and holiday work required.
