Overview: Compass Group Canada is looking for a Coffee Shop Manager for one of our stores located at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Duties:

  1. Provide leadership to staff which includes training, direction, scheduling, and supervision.
  2. Maintain proper cash controls, inventory, labor, and auditing as required by the Company.
  3. Be proactive regarding potential guest concerns and maintain a high level of customer service.
  4. Assist in the operations of other food service units at the location, including catering and other events.
  5. Be an integral part of the weekly administrative duties, completing all weekly paperwork, and maintaining Compass programs such as Quality Assurance.
  6. Additional duties and tasks as required by the Food Services Director.

Qualifications: (please only apply if you meet all required qualifications.)

  1. Minimum 2 years of Food Service Management experience, preferably in a similar environment (Coffee Shop, Café, etc).
  2. Leadership qualities, ability to direct a diverse, experienced staff.
  3. Ability to learn new systems, programs, and terminology.
  4. Efficient with computers, including MS Office applications (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
  5. Able to communicate well with a wide variety of people and build rapport.
  6. Team player, works productively with others.
  7. High energy, shows a sense of urgency.
  8. Works well under pressure, maintains a pleasant demeanor even under stress.
  9. Well organized and efficient, attentive to detail, and able to multitask.
