Position Overview
Under the guidance of Human Resources and the Scheduling coordinator, the Staffing Clerk maintains scheduling and relief in collaboration with the Patient Care manager and other Management.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated ability to provide continuous quality services.
- Provide the scheduling functions of the department.
- Obtain staff for known and immediate vacancies in schedule as requested by management, following the provision of the collective agreements and hospital scheduling policies/practices.
- Take sick calls inform department and provide replacements as required.
- Obtain staff for transportation of patients to and from tests outside the building.
- Obtain staff on an immediate basis as required/requested by management.
- Process schedule changes as provided by management.
- Inform departments as necessary re: changes in hours, sick calls, etc.
- Prepare daily on-call sheets for the administrator on call.
- Maintain his/her own continuing education.
- Responsible for providing emergency services in the event of a work slowdown, strike, disaster or any other emergent/urgent condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Experience using scheduling software (ESP preferred) as well as Microsoft Office.

- Working knowledge of the current MNU, MGEU, and MAHCP collective agreements.
- Ability to handle the confidential aspects of the position with discretion and professionalism.

- Ability to organize workload.
- Read, write legibly, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to complete the position on a regular basis.
