Our Ways of Working
We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.
What the Role Is
Babylist is the destination for millions of growing families. We help them with everything from product research, to managing their registry, to becoming part of our social media community. We believe that Babylist can also play a role in helping customers discover, purchase, and manage more of what they need for a new family member all in one convenient place. We are looking for an experienced product manager to help fulfill this vision.
As the Staff Product Manager, Commerce, you will own the development of Babylist’s strategy around transactional e-commerce – ensuring that every customer has a great buying experience. This includes ownership of Babylist’s first-party ecommerce experience, the Babylist Shop. And also means driving strategic work on ensuring that customers are taking advantage of the best offers (price, availability, and ship speed) for the items on their registry, whether through the Babylist Shop or our 3rd party partners. You will also manage relationships with key partner teams, including Merchandising, Customer Support, Supply Chain, and Catalog Data. On a daily basis, you will push to elevate our existing Shop e-commerce experience, and also develop compelling new opportunities to serve new parents and gift givers. Your work ensures that registrants ultimately get what they need for their growing family, and you will have the opportunity to positively impact millions of growing families during these important life milestones.
The ideal Staff Product Manager has a track record of leveraging user-empathy, data, and constructive debate to create compelling user experiences that build customer loyalty. They have demonstrated strong ownership of both strategy and execution to drive outsized business impact. They understand the basics of ecommerce and also show an ability to innovate beyond existing patterns. This role also requires very high individual judgment and strong communication skills, which can be utilized to bring structure & clarity to the work and organize efforts across the organization to deliver the best possible outcomes for our users.
