Your Role:

As Alpaca’s sole technical recruiter, you will be given the opportunity to hit the ground running to give priority support to our engineering and product group’s recruitment efforts. Our team is looking for someone with experience in end to end recruiting with a seamless transition to our onboarding specialist. Our technical recruiter will be comfortable discussing tech stack, coding language, and identifying the candidate’s best fit for our open engineering roles.

The human resources team is 100% distributed and remote. This role will be reporting directly to the VP, Global Human Resources.

Things You Get To Do:

  • Sourcing on jobs that have low inbound applicants with outreach on Ycombinator
  • Applicant and resume review of high priority roles, with secondary support of resume review on lower priority roles.
  • Applicant Presentation to hiring manager on high priority roles
  • Report on the current status of all open jobs. Report on analytics of blockers preventing acceptance of roles.
  • Debrief preferred applicants with the hiring team prior to moving to offer or final interview with the budget owner.
  • Present verbal offer to candidates with ability to negotiate within equitable budgets and provide consistency in benefits across teams.
  • Keep preferred candidates warm with weekly check ins throughout any slow downs in hiring process
  • Provide oversight and support for the hiring process with hiring teams.
  • Support interview skill requirements for hiring teams with job opening call and basic training for the process.

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

  • Ability to discern and filter applicants for technical understanding
  • Interpersonal skills to engage candidates to provide insightful support in hiring of their fit within the company for high performance with long term retention with Alpaca.
  • Collaborative with hiring teams, human resources and support teams to engage successfully with trust and respect for the team.
  • Sourcing skills to support stagnant or unique roles to ensure we find the best candidate for the role.
  • Analytical skills for regular reporting on hiring status, blockers, metrics, etc on how the recruiting process is going.

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):

  • Experience working in financial services or regulated industry
  • Experience hiring in global, remote environment
  • Experience hiring permanent employees and contract employees
  • Technical understanding to speak comfortably regarding: coding language (e.g. Go), IDLs (e.g., protobuf), RPC frameworks (e.g., gRPC), cloud platforms (e.g., GCP), and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
