Job Summary

The Sr. Project Manager, Back of House Technology will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of technology solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our back-of-house operations. This role requires a deep understanding of QSR operations, strong technical expertise, and exceptional project management skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Familiar with QSR operations and the fast-paced environment, including kitchen workflows, inventory management, and operations excellence service standards.
  2. Experience developing product enhancements, navigating change management, and planning product launches with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
  3. Gather and analyze user feedback to inform product decisions and articulate a vision and product roadmap.
  4. Experience in understanding and prioritizing user needs and the intersection of technology to deliver positive business results.
  5. Experience with supply chain, warehouse management, or materials inventory management, and workforce management solutions is an asset.
  6. Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for back-of-house technology solutions.
  7. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in back-of-house operations.
  8. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
  9. Lead the product lifecycle from ideation to launch, including requirements gathering, prioritization, development, testing, and deployment.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, create detailed specifications, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  11. Manage product roadmaps, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements.
  12. Work closely with operations, supply chain, IT, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure product solutions address their challenges.
  13. Facilitate communication and collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  14. Evaluate and manage relationships with external technology vendors.
  15. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure optimal performance and value from third-party solutions.
  16. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of back-of-house technology solutions.
  17. Continuously monitor product performance and user feedback, and implement improvements as needed.
  18. Develop and deliver training programs for restaurant staff to ensure effective use of back-of-house technology.
  19. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for technology-related issues in the back-of-house environment.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in product or project management, with a focus on technology solutions in the QSR, retail or service industry.
  3. Strong understanding of back-of-house operations in a QSR environment.
  4. Proven track record of successfully managing technology products from concept to launch.
  5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  8. Experience working with external vendors and managing vendor relationships.
  9. Knowledge of industry-standard software development methodologies and tools.
  10. Proficiency in systems such as POS, order management, and restaurant or hospitality workflows.
  11. Knowledge in systems such as Clearview, Restaurant365, PAR Data Central and Cloud-Based Restaurant Inventory, Order and Waste management solutions is an asset.
  12. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
