Position: Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Canada, Montreal

Reporting to: Engineering Director

Qualification: Engineering degree in Mechanical or equivalent

Job Role:

Engineering Scope

• Designs machines/equipments in accordance with the international applicable norms and as per customer requirement.
• Completes projects mandates within defined targets while meeting customer expectations.
• Produces the BOM for any new design or change in design.
• Validate the BOM for existing design before hand-off to production.
• Produces all documentation for production and installation.
• Produces Maintenance and Operations documentation of the designed equipments for customer use.
• Accountable for handshake with production for fabrication of equipments and assure that they have all support to successfully fabricate these equipment.
• Supports other mechanical engineering team members.
• Interacts with purchasing to make sure to procure the right items as per the specification and in timely manner to produce proposals.
• Supports purchasing team in the selection of the suppliers.
• Adopts processes and tools to improve efficiency.
• Helps resolve technical questions that may arise during project execution.
• Interfaces with the customer as required in collaboration with the sales and project teams.

Sales Support

• Supports sales team during bid preparation. Active involvement on the definition of the project execution plan and cost estimation during the quotation phase.
• Alignment with Sales team to provide the required expertise for the Solutions offered to our customers.
• Applies Process expertise and Solutions knowledge when preparing technical and economic proposals considering best cost solutions to meet customer needs and Company sales strategy.
• Supports the sales team on any technical/commercial aspect, during customer negotiations and closing of the deal.

Skills Required:

• Must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in Industrial Automation Design.
• Must have Engineering degree in Mechanical or equivalent.
• Must have Strong working knowledge of Design Software - SolidWorks.
• In-depth industry and market knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of products and solutions within Industrial Robotics & Automation market.
• Customer service and or sales experience.
• Team management.

Remuneration:

• Total Gross CAD $, having some Savings potential (Salary will be as per Norms for the position).
• Work permit process will be taken care of by Company, with Long Term commitment and stability.
