Overview

The Sr. Manager – National Accounts will be responsible for leading strategic planning, promotional development, and joint business planning to drive growth and strengthen the relationship with Walmart Canada. This role will oversee supply chain excellence, ensuring product availability, efficient distribution, and smooth operations. The candidate will work closely with internal teams in Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to execute key initiatives and align with both the BISSELL’s and Walmart Canada's business objectives. In addition, they will provide omni-channel leadership, adapting strategies to Walmart Canada's evolving retail landscape. The Sr. Manager will also be responsible for managing the account’s P&L, driving profitability and ensuring financial performance aligns with company targets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a direct report, providing guidance, and driving high performance within their team. The Sr. Manager – National Accounts will be the key liaison for all account-related matters, driving results through strong relationship management and collaboration across departments. They will identify new business opportunities, enhance brand visibility, and negotiate key terms to maximize profitability and long-term success with Walmart Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of strategic account plans that align with company goals, driving sales and profitability at Walmart Canada. This includes the development and implementation of promotional programs to drive volume, market share growth, and brand visibility.
  • Lead omni-channel initiatives to drive business results and enhance customer experience by integrating Walmart Canada Stores, Walmart.ca, and Walmart Canada Marketplace. Utilize data streams to drive strategic investment, optimize returns, and create a leading-edge approach to omni-channel maximization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless supply chain management, focusing on OTIF performance, continuous improvement, and inventory management. Lead forecast collaboration internally and externally to ensure appropriate in-stock levels and event support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across Walmart Canada’s organization, ensuring alignment and fostering collaboration to achieve business objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain, to ensure successful joint business planning and execution. Establish point-to-point connections that enable collaboration between both organizations, delivering on Joint Business Planning goals.
  • Oversee Sales, Sales support, Category Management, Customer Marketing, Digital Support, Replenishment, and Forecast & Inventory management, ensuring strong performance across all functions.
  • Take ownership of the account’s P&L, driving profitability and ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds company targets. Monitor key financial metrics and adjust strategies to maximize account profitability.
  • Identify new business opportunities within Walmart Canada to expand product distribution, drive growth, and increase market share, while strengthening the company’s position in the market.
  • Lead negotiations with Walmart Canada on pricing, contracts, and key account terms. Ensure mutually beneficial agreements that align with company goals and drive long-term success.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by driving performance metrics across the account. Work with internal teams to resolve issues and enhance Walmart Canada’s overall experience with the brand.

Qualifications

  • Omni-Channel Expertise: Proficient in integrating and driving growth across in-store, online, and marketplace channels using data-driven strategies.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Proven ability to manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Required Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in major account management with Walmart, preferably in the consumer goods industry.
  • Omni Channel leadership experience. Integration of digital strategy within store objectives to drive maximum growth and optimization of channels.
  • Proven success in strategic planning, promotional development, supply chain management, and Joint Business Planning.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives.

Walmart Specific Experience:

  • Strong experience regarding Retail Link, and Walmart internal systems and processes.
