What you’ll be doing

As part of the Infrastructure Finance Team, the Project Finance Support is accountable to provide support for all finance-related activities associated with Bank projects including: planning, analysis, & reporting, business case support, project set-up & closure, develop project standards, and tracking of benefits when required. The role is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects. The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide information and analysis, make recommendations and suggest consequences of proposed actions for management consideration. This includes providing accurate plans, forecasts and management reporting for all aspects of the project. The position will work closely with portfolio project managers, internal finance groups, senior technology and business leadership teams.

  • Technical knowledge - Knowledge of tools, techniques and practices for analyzing the purpose and scope of a project in terms of cost and benefits. In addition, knowledge of regulatory issues and/or complex accounting/reporting systems and have an ability to identify, extract, and apply the information accordingly

  • Continuous improvement focus - Ability to understand, monitor, update, or enhance existing business or work process. Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities promptly and effectively

  • Policy and procedure - Understanding and knowledge of the policies and procedures used within CIBC, and the ability to identify, extract, and apply the information accordingly.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in and have strong knowledge of accounting and finance (ideally 3+ years experience). In addition, you have (or working towards) a CPA designation, CFA, MBA in Finance, or equivalent. It's an asset if you have experience supporting large scale projects.
