Job description

Sr. Director, Operations Equipment:

The Sr. Director, Operations Equipment leads the Tim Hortons Operations Equipment team as they manage the innovation and renovation of our restaurant equipment. The work is largely cross-functional with a focus on restaurant-level process and equipment solutions that reduce complexity and improve franchisee profitability. This position interacts with a wide range of internal and external individuals and teams including but not limited to restaurant team members, multi-unit managers, restaurant owners, equipment manufacturers, and internal cross-functional teams such as operations, training, marketing, and supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and optimize back of house to:
    • improve efficiencies
    • broaden our scope of potential offerings
    • minimize required maintenance and lengthen the equipment life span
  2. Digitize our restaurant processes
  3. Work with Vendors on RFP processes
  4. Oversee product and project management

Requirements:

  1. Undergraduate degree in engineering
  2. 5+ years of experience in equipment or operations in the food service industry, QSR experience strongly preferred
  3. Prior experience managing and planning large-scale projects
  4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  5. Strong communication and leadership skills are needed
  6. Project-related travel (0-25%), primarily in continental US & Canada with occasional travel outside North America
  7. Ability to work out of the Toronto, Ontario office on a hybrid basis
