About the role:
Digital, data and analytics is one of the key pillars of Sun Life's Client for Life Strategy. Leveraging innovative digital capabilities powered by data, insights and intelligence, we aim to inspire and energize our clients and sales professionals to believe “Life’s brighter under the Sun”.
You will join a team of other Data Integration Infrastructure Analysts whose primary responsibility is to provision, manage and provide technical support for data management tools and shared software infrastructures.
You will require an understanding of infrastructure architecture, product capabilities, data integration, data governance and database and storage needs to be successful in this role.
Note:
- As a condition of the role, the successful candidate must obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance through Sun Life in advance of the start date and the role will also require Star Compliance.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete applicable background checks prior to the start date and during employment, in accordance with Sun Life’s policies and practices.

We are looking for someone who can combine expert analysis skills, strong technical aptitude, eagerness to learn with a strategic mindset to support the infrastructure of various Data Integration, Mainframe and Data Governance products on premise and in the Cloud.
What you will do:
- Provide exceptional product infrastructure and administration support by meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction
- Participate in rotational on-call operational support, including after-hours support
- Manage intake and fill user requests. Examples include application and user set up, administration, code promotion requests, software consulting and troubleshooting
- Provide new software and perform software renewal assessments
- Have a continuous improvement mindset to ensure processes and products are efficient and cost effective
- Design and implement software infrastructure deployments and support system management processes and procedures
- Be part of our Digital Enterprise journey at Sun Life by being client obsessed and agile
- Ensure systems can be recovered in accordance with the Business Continuity Plan and participate in Sun Life Disaster Recovery tests
- Ensure project deliverables are of excellent quality and delivered on time and within budget
- Ensure information delivery standards and guidelines are followed
- Work and coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting, system implementation, and migration
What you need to succeed:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 1+ Years of experience providing infrastructure support preferably with Informatica Cloud
- 1+ Years of experience working with Unix & Windows Operating Systems
- 1-3+ Years of experience setting up/supporting software running on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- General Mainframe experience
- Dedicated team player who is customer focused
- Effective communication, problem solving, troubleshooting and organizational skills
- Ability to test and learn and make immediate adjustments
- Ability to learn new technology quickly
- Security protocols such as LDAP, Kerberos, and Windows Active Directory
- DevOps processes and tools such as Jenkins, BitBucket
- Agile Methodology
