Job description

We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer – Beauty to join our Loblaw Agency team working specifically on the Beauty at Shoppers Drug Mart portfolio on a 12-month contract.

This role requires effective creative and design skills for a wide range of print, digital, paid media and OOH materials such as in-store signage, web & email assets, digital banners, paid social media posts, video content and other promotional materials. The ability to think omni channel is essential in delivering cohesive and effective designs. You will work to ensure that all creative adheres to brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in look, feel, tone of voice, and overall visual direction. This role partners closely with a Senior Copywriter – Beauty as well as the Manager, Art Direction – Beauty.

The Senior Designer – Beauty will report to the Associate Creative Director, SDM and will support our Beauty portfolio initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ideate, create and execute on omnichannel touchpoints per project to support Marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate with lead creatives, writers and production artists to create and adapt original, industry leading, customer-centric creative to achieve the desired result of campaigns
  • Adapt creative into channel-specific elements as needed
  • Lead assigned projects from concept through to final files and everything in between
  • Work effectively with outside suppliers such as photographers, illustrators and vendors when required
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, ensuring timely delivery of all assets while maintaining an effective workflow
  • Communicate effectively with marketing partners and clients when sharing assets for feedback and approvals (as this role is client-facing)
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to secure approvals of marketing assets and collaborate cross-functionally with team members
  • Demonstrate the ability to self-start, problem-solve, and be receptive to constructive feedback
  • Collaborate effectively with an integrated, multi-disciplinary team, as well as working autonomously when needed
  • Monitor latest design trends and creative techniques and be familiar with competitor marketing programs
What You’ll Need
  • 4 or more years’ experience in graphic design in a marketing environment
  • Advanced graphic design and typographical skills
  • Excellent understanding of effective and unique advertising
  • Advanced ability to quickly react & adapt to business needs with initiative and creativity
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadline-driven task/projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform in and feed into a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Mastery of file preparation including font management and support file links
  • Excellent ability to create effective, original advertising materials on tight timelines
  • Mastery of key components of the Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac platform (mainly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Extensive knowledge of key components of Figma
  • Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the design profession
  • Experience with art direction would be considered an asset
  • Experience and/or a passion for beauty would be considered an asset
