What You’ll Be Doing
As an integral member of the Frontline & Distribution Analytics team, reporting to the Director, Advice Teams Analytics, the Sr. Consultant, Business Analytics is responsible for producing ongoing, weekly, and monthly management reports and developing value added, actionable insights for the Specialized Advice teams, by leveraging key data sources and analytical tools and techniques. The Sr. Consultant will develop Executive level dashboards that drive actionable insights using data, and measurements of effectiveness of all business sales strategies and campaigns. The Senior Consultant will need to demonstrate advanced technical, analytical, financial modelling and critical thinking skills, apply financial, product and project management disciplines, and have a clear understanding of the market, the competitive environment and the firm’s strategic priorities to provide value to the team.

How You’ll Succeed
Reporting and presentation – Identify key trends and patterns with actionable insights using Tableau, prepare and present analytical based presentations that present complex data information in an understandable and actionable way. Develop and maintain ongoing reporting related to key sales force, client, product and channel trends, draw upon a wide variety of client, product, sales, and channel data, and have a leadership role in providing recommendation to the Leadership team and enable Management to make well-informed decisions by providing data, analytics, and regular reports.
Stakeholder Management – Develop change management strategies and maintain open, collaborative lines of communication to ensure requirements and impacts through advanced technical, analytical, financial modelling and critical thinking skills, apply financial, product and project management disciplines, and have a clear understanding of the market, the competitive environment and the firm’s strategic priorities to provide value to the team. Gather critical information on the various management techniques/client issues/concerns, strategic priorities, business challenges and specific project requirements to support the development of a winning value proposition. Provide analytical solutions to solve business problems, provide insights to inform decisions, forecasting and planning. Drive, manage and execute analytics initiatives as well as providing recommendations and best practices for new integrations. Develop ad hoc analyses to address key business issues as they arise, complete complex client and product analyses utilizing advanced analytical tools and techniques with a variety of structured and unstructured data sources, develop and share insights based on this analysis with a wide variety of audience. Conduct business problem assessment independently. Gather relevant information related to business processes, functions and operations to evaluate data credibility and quality. Creatively modify or select the most suitable procedure/approach to solve a business problem. Perform in-depth analysis to identify revenue generating / cost saving opportunities and performance measurement improvements. Develop proposals and make recommendations for model usage to the downstream partners. Play an integral role in contributing to the development of business intelligence, an integrated view/plan for data & analytics, measurements, and controls that will be used in reporting key performance metrics at multiple levels within CIBC. Help define business requirements and manage deliverables against business partner expectations and time sensitive deadlines.
Collaboration – Maintain good cross-functional collaboration with business partners as well as other analytical teams including Enterprise Analytics, Channel Analytics, Client Segmentation and Analytics and Decision Science teams.
Who You Are
You have a degree. You have a Degree in Business, Commerce, Mathematics, or Computer Science. It’s an asset if you have an MBA in Data Management/Data Science.
You can demonstrate 5 to 7 years of work experience in data/financial modeling and analytical experience with a strong proficiency in SAS, SQL, Excel, Alteryx, Tableau and Python. You have the ability to perform complex data integration and transformation and experience building and maintaining Tableau dashboards.
