About The Role

The Sr. Analyst, Site Engineering is responsible for workflow and design layouts of equipment and workspaces to minimize risk to employee health, local coordination of group Health & Safety programs, reduce cost of manufacturing, development and implementation of engineering projects to improve production efficiency, streamline maintenance activities, and resolve manufacturing and production engineering problems ranging from manual operations to high-speed automated bottling equipment. This individual is expected to develop an in-depth knowledge of our supply base, strengths and weaknesses of internal manufacturing and business processes, strengths and weaknesses of equipment, and the strengths and weaknesses of key personnel that contribute to the quality of the manufactured product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects from cradle to grave. Includes identification of opportunity, scoping and budgeting of project, generation of funding request, management of project, and execution while directing both internal and external resources.
  • Coordinate local Safety program in alignment with Group principles and act as key point of contact.
  • Ensure all equipment meets SCJ Professional guarding and safety standards and develop action plans to address substandard equipment.
  • Be an active driver in Health & Safety programs at the sites including investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action closure.
  • Capture and report out on Health & Safety metrics.
  • Act as a key point of communication between production, quality, and engineering / facility management.
  • Continuously identify and improve upon operational processes, implementing lean practices and procedures where applicable.
  • Plan, document, and monitor procedures and activities related to EPD to ensure program launch success.
  • Utilize engineering knowledge to adapt and implement new methods for manufacturing production improvement through the examination of equipment, processes, operations and assembly.
  • Ensure that communications are ongoing, clear, concise, and complete.
  • Present ideas and plans for continuous improvement, providing data and/or metrics to support the initiatives.
  • Ensure designs are safe, efficient, effective and able to be manufactured.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support as required.
  • Maintain and develop plant layout and other engineering drawings.
  • Support production team to improve working environment and product throughput.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure project success.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Required Experience You’ll Bring

  • University degree either Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or Technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct work experience in an automated packaging/bottling environment, productions systems, regulations, guidelines and associated standards.

Preferred Experiences And Skills

  • Experience of taking projects through manufacturing launch plus at least one year of subsequent production.
  • Thorough and demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
  • Strong communication, planning, project management and organizational skills.
  • Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.
  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing are desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD for the creating of detailed plant layout drawings.
  • Experience within quality systems and GMP practices characteristic of a pharmaceutical, personal care, or food plant environment. Writing SOP’s, PM’s, and deviations.
  • Experience working with and sourcing equipment related to the mixing and bottling of fluid goods. i.e. Air compressors, mixers pumps, Fillers, torquers, labelers.
  • Good working knowledge of GMPs.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner.
  • Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures and design documents.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines and achieve objectives under pressure.
  • Strong communication, planning, project management and organizational skills.
  • Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.
  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing are desirable.

Job Requirements

  • 40 hours per week with occasional extra hours based on the needs of the business.
  • Local travel between sites.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work.
  • This position is not eligible for relocation.
