As a Sr Advisor Financial Reporting, you play a key role in assisting the Manager of Financial Reporting with leading, coordinating and preparing the annual and interim management’s discussion and analysis, consolidated financial statements and other external reporting of Enbridge and certain subsidiaries.

This Senior Advisor, Financial Reporting is a dedicated innovation champion with a mandate to increase efficiency, improve the user experience, and reduce risk. Combining financial process expertise with technical applications' knowledge, the Senior Advisor will use common automation applications to design and implement applicable solutions while ensuring stakeholders needs are met.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the preparation of financial statements for various Enbridge Inc. subsidiaries and investments.
  • Coordinate with audit field staff to ensure the year-end audit, quarterly reviews and ad-hoc non-audit work are completed successfully and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Research department on the accounting approach and support for major transactions, such as acquisitions and disposals, and lead the disclosure process.
  • Mentor, coach and indirectly supervise junior members within the Financial Reporting department including review of their work and assistance in assessing their performance.
  • Lead, participate in and guide other team members in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Consult with the team and Financial Reporting leadership to identify and diagnose challenges and related opportunities for automation and process efficiencies.
  • Design, develop and test solutions that accommodate Financial Reporting team needs and deliverables using existing applications and technologies where possible.
  • Lead the implementation of solutions in concert with team members and internal/external partners.
  • Provide technical support to the Financial Reporting, Consolidations and Pensions Reporting teams, including administrative duties such as user and permissions management, troubleshooting technical application issues and providing training for broader application of identified applications (e.g. Power Query, Power Automate, SharePoint, Active Disclosure etc).

Who You Are:

Required:

  • Highly motivated self-starter able to work with little supervision guided by high-level directives;
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills including the ability to mentor;
  • Undergraduate degree in commerce, business or equivalent and designated as a CPA;
  • 6+ years of directly related experience;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with US GAAP an asset;
  • Experience with review of technical software documentation an asset;
  • Experience with technical troubleshooting, especially in a production environment an asset;
  • Experience with Microsoft’s Power Platform and Power BI an asset;
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle and HFM an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment;
  • Strict project deadlines driven by key financial period end closings (monthly, quarterly, annually), and other external demands;
  • Some overtime/flexibility required to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
