Location: Remote with requirement to travel for business needs
Role Purpose: To ensure the integrity of financial records by managing and executing accounting processes, including general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role contributes to the company's financial health and provides critical insights to support decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in alignment with IFRS/GAAP.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
Prepare and submit tax filings, including provincial sales tax and GST returns, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Support the audit process by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Monitor and update foreign exchange rates, ensuring accurate reporting of international transactions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to enhance team capability.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within a public company or multinational organization.
Proficiency in financial reporting software and advanced Excel skills.
Preferred:
CPA designation or equivalent professional certification.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Knowledge of IFRS and/or GAAP accounting standards.

Travel Requirements: Minimal

Compensation and Benefits:
$70,000-$90,000 / year (commensurate with experience and location)
