Community Options is a not-for-profit organization. We provide early childhood services throughout Edmonton and the surrounding area. Our program offers specialized services designed to support children in their community daycare or preschool setting.
Our Community Preschool Education program receives funding through Alberta Education. As a PUF provider, we are champions of early intervention and inclusion. If you are the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and teachers. The role will be to plan and facilitate services that meet the unique needs of individual students.

Job Description:
- Meets with families and community programs.
- Provide visits to daycares and preschools.
- Provide consultation to Developmental Support Assistants and program staff.
- Develop individualized goals as part of a child's Individual Program Plan.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members.
- Use standard and non-standard assessment tools.
- Write reports using computer software.
- Understand the options available to families (AHS, PUF providers etc.) and advise families based on unique needs of child.
- Respond and adapt to ever changing situations.
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization. Represent Community Options in a positive, professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Attributes and Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent academic training and experience.
- Current member of the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
- Champion of inclusion. Respect the values of diversity and inclusivity.
- Being adaptable, flexible, reliable, and organized.
- Effective time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to work well under minimal supervision.
- Comfortable with frequent kneeling and squatting for much of a shift, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- In occasional circumstances, must have the ability to run to ensure child’s safety.
- Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment for home visit, community partner site, and program health and safety needs.
- Current Child Intervention and Police Record Check with vulnerable sector check (dated within 6 months or more recent to hire date).
- Have a reliable vehicle for site visits, valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance. (Reimbursement for travel between sites provided).
- Have current certification in Standard Child Care First Aid and CPR or Standard First Aid and CPR within 90 days from the hire date.
- There may be occasional evening or weekend shifts.
- During office work, there may be periods of prolonged sitting and exposure to a computer screen and performing repetitive movements.

- Full-time (up to 35 hours per week)

Salary Range:
- $45.00 to $55.00 per hour based on education and experience.
