Family and Support Aide Collaboration:

  • Provide training and resources to families and support aides to reinforce progress at home and in the community.
  • Maintain open and supportive communication to address any concerns or adjustments needed.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Accurately document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and communicate effectively with other professionals as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ communication, language, and social interaction needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s goals.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance communication abilities, independence, and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals, families, and support aides, to ensure coordinated and client-centered care.
  • Educate clients and families on therapeutic strategies and techniques to support ongoing development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and outcomes in alignment with professional standards.
  • Stay informed about current best practices in speech-language pathology and related medical terminology.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with Alberta.
  • Experience in case management, pediatrics, or community care preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and therapeutic principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and team members.
