The Specialist, Technical Network will be a collaborative member of the Managed Infrastructure Services (MIS) team, serving our enterprise customers and supporting them. This collaborative team provides third-level support to MIS Technicians, Design Engineering for Bell Services (MIS Network, MIS Wireless and IPVPN). This position demands an individual who possesses technical expertise with superb customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide the end-to-end technical leadership to the resolution of customer issues related to Managed Infrastructure Services (MIS); IPVPN, MIS Network, and MIS Wireless.
  • Provide third level support (L3) for escalations from MIS Technicians (L2) arising from Incidents, Problems, Changes, Requests for Changes and Releases.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to serve and support our MIS Technicians in resolving customer issues.
  • Provide technical leadership to Solutions Engineering (Sales) in ensuring customer designs satisfy operational requirements in an efficient and supportive manner.
  • Ability to articulate and communicate complex networking-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff in an efficient and supportive manner.
  • Serve account executives and service managers in explaining customer issues and service outages in an efficient and supportive manner.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to MIS Technicians (L2) and share technical knowledge, skills and expertise in an efficient and supportive manner.
  • Provide leadership in introducing new equipment and software for our services and customers (executing testing and acceptance).

Critical Qualifications

  • Demonstrated Experience with Layer 2 Technologies (STP, VTP).
  • Demonstrated Experience with Layer 3 Technologies (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, IGMP, PIM, HSRP).
  • Knowledge of MPLS Technologies (VRF, VRF-Lite, MP-BGP, QoS).
  • Knowledge of Application and Network Access Control Technologies (SNMP, DNS, DHCP, Radius, ACS, ISE, IDS/IPS).
  • Demonstrated Experience in Planning, Design and Support of Networks.
  • Demonstrated Vendor Hardware Experience with Cisco (Required) and/or F5 and Juniper.
  • Understanding of Firewall Technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 Years of Experience.
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Relevant Experience.
  • Juniper (JNCIA-M) an Asset.
  • University Degree or College Diploma (Computer Science, Engineering, Programming).
  • Demonstrates the above Technical Competencies and Essential Qualities/Attributes.

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.

Additional Information:

For work arrangements that are ‘Hybrid’, successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum of 3 days a week. Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, Bell offers flexibility in work hours based on the business needs.
