Responsibilities
The incumbent in this position will develop and execute web, digital, and social marketing initiatives to support property and brand in electronic media that will complement traditional public relations and advertising plans. Reporting to the Digital Content Manager, this position supports the Marketing Department in executing initiatives to increase and enhance the reputation of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa among key stakeholders by gaining positive digital media exposure locally, regionally and nationally. A team player who is able to work with multiple departments while also being an independent contributor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa their choice for luxury entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, managing, marketing and optimizing digital advertising campaigns to influence consumer behavior and deliver against revenue goals.
- Implement strategies and coordinate social media campaigns including, creative assets, ad tactic selection, messaging and offer strategy targets and refine to optimize results & track performance relative to campaign goals.
- Monitor online advertising technology trends, suggest new potential partners and recommend pilot programs for testing.
- Recommend uses of technologies, platforms and programs that promote audience growth and engagement on a variety of platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Trip Advisor, Yelp, Expedia, etc.
- Implement strategic plans and approaches to drive consumer engagement and cultivate loyal advocates for the property across all relevant social media platforms.
- Develop and oversee social media campaigns, including applications, contests, and media across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Trip Advisor, Yelp, etc. and all relevant blogs. This includes the development of carefully crafted responses to posts by the property’s social media audience.
- Monitor messaging effectiveness and leverage social media channel response to identify new opportunities to improve message performance.
- Partner with Management teams to align social media messages with the overall corporate marketing calendar and brand.
- Develop weekly social media and mobile marketing posts, messages and content that align with and support Hard Rock International corporate initiatives. In addition, manage and track outreach programs to support major corporate initiatives.
- Develop graphics for social media, web and digital signage on property.
- Responsible for providing weekly and monthly statistical reporting of internet activity for both overall website activity and social sites.
- Work closely with other departments to develop e-campaigns aligned with the overall marketing strategy to promote Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa promotions, entertainment, special events, and ongoing property marketing efforts.
- Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
- Attend and participate in off-property functions and events as assigned.
- Perform work regularly and predictably.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Visual Communications, or related field; or 3 years of brand or retail marketing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in digital, interactive, or social media experience.
- Agency or corporate experience in building interactive media campaigns, including website usability and design, website analytics, banner ads, contextual ads, blogs, social networking, viral, and non-traditional techniques strongly preferred.
- Bilingual: Fluent in English and French required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to walk distances.
- The employee must frequently lift/push/pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.
