What you’ll be doing

This expert planning role works closely within the Wealth Planning Group to elevate the quality and operational excellence of the financial planning practice. The Centralized Financial Planning Specialist is an experienced CFP accredited planner that collaborates with Wealth Strategists, Financial Planning Specialists and Relationship Managers by providing financial planning services. The incumbent will also have a national scope and play an important role in key projects related to the advice enablement of the Wealth Planning Group.

How you’ll succeed

  • Prepare Financial Plans - Provide highly specialized advice and consultation with respect to a broad range of complex financial planning aspects to add value to the financial planning process. Offer expertise in strategies and solutions for clients - retirement planning; goal planning; life & wealth protection; milestones & purchases planning; succession planning, and tax planning.
  • Maintain Industry Expertise - Keep up-to-date with the overall economic and financial environment, current events, market conditions, trends, and changes to legislation and product platforms in an area that is subject to frequent change. Provide expertise in dealing with high value clients, each with specific needs and circumstances requiring a unique financial analysis and plan to meet their short term and long term financial requirements.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with our partners and champion collaborative excellence by fostering strong relationships that instill confidence with every interaction. A mix of adaptability, flexibility and structure are key to driving our vision and developing trust with our partners.
  • Communication Skills – Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Power Point, Excel). Ability to convey complex financial planning insights into clear, memorable, and compelling client recommendations.
  • Client Engagement - Focus on each client’s experience and connect on a personal level to make every interaction meaningful. Enhance relationships by delivering trusted advice and providing comprehensive financial planning support. Cultivate your network to establish new client relationships.
  • Initiative - Questions the status quo and makes suggestions about how things can be done more effectively. Takes responsibility for continuously developing own knowledge, skills and capabilities. Takes advantage of opportunities when they arise.

Who you are

  • You’re a certified professional. You have the CFP accreditation.
  • You can demonstrate experience with a minimum of 5 years in the Financial Planning industry. Experience with Wealth Advisors and Planners is an asset. You have demonstrated planning and organizational skills sufficient to take small or medium-sized work packages from concept to completion.
  • You're digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends. Advanced technical knowledge - You have thorough understanding of the Canadian taxation system, as well as experience with corporate and trust structures. You have advanced technical capabilities in using Financial Planning software (Voyant/CIBC Goal Planner is preferred), as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Adobe.
  • You love to learn. You're passionate about growing your knowledge. You have a strong sense of curiosity and are a systemic thinker with a strong process and analytical capability.

  • You're fluent in French and English to serve our clients in the community.
