Banff Hospitality Collective is seeking a Sous Chef to join us at our newest upcoming venue, Pizzeria Sophia! Banff Hospitality Collective or as we like to call it ‘BHC’, is a multi-concept restaurant and entertainment company with 15 venues and counting. All our venues are unique in their own right but have a few things in common:

  1. They are all located in downtown Banff.

What You’ll Do:

  • Produce quality food experiences for our guests, lead the kitchen team, and hire amazing people.
  • Maintain kitchen organization, efficiency, and supervise all food preparation.
  • Ensure cooking stations are stocked for operation hours and coordinate ordering of supplies.
  • Lead the kitchen team, providing guidance, training, and recognize opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage food and product ordering, keep detailed records, minimize waste, and verify food storage compliance.
  • Verify food storage system functionality and ensure staff understands proper food product dating and organization.
  • Serve as an ambassador of our employer brand and assist with hiring top kitchen talent.

What You Have:

  • 2-3 years culinary experience is required.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory kitchen role is an asset.
  • Passion and knowledge for Italian cuisine is a strong asset.
  • Food Safety certification.
  • Knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Amazing team player with leadership qualities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Open-mindedness and flexibility in perspective.
  • Professionalism in all interactions.
  • Flexible schedule required.
