ABOUT THE JOB:

The aim of Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBTO differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.

The Sourcing Generalist of the SG Americas Sourcing Department supports the overall goals of the SG global Sourcing Department in Paris of reducing and controlling SG’s cost structure and commercial and legal risks within the Americas region. The Sourcing Generalist will be responsible for sourcing mid to low level business requirements across multiple categories of spend (HR, Real Estate, IT HW/SW, Services, Consulting etc.).

The position requires a skilled, experienced sourcing professional with general knowledge of Industry and related practices, with excellent negotiation and contract drafting skills. A qualified candidate will possess a strong sourcing acumen and be capable of generally applying sourcing strategy and techniques across a variety of spend. Additionally, the individual is required to have experience collecting business requirements, testing the market, negotiating/drafting commercial and to some extent legal terms of an agreement and must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

Day to day responsibilities include but not limited to:

Generalist:

  • Support the sourcing category leads by applying the sourcing process to mid to low level projects/agreements
  • Negotiate/Draft mid to low level agreements including, but not limited Master Agreement, Schedules, SOWs, Amendments, NDAs etc
  • Draft contractual terms with the assistance of the Legal department to ensure optimal contractual arrangements and best practices are achieved, which may include responsibility for management of document templates
  • Reduce cost, increase quality, and improve service by reducing number of suppliers and consolidating purchasing power (supplier rationalization) and/or optimization of the services or service delivery
  • Develop and administer supplier RFXs and analyze proposals
  • Coordinate and participate in Global/Regional/Local contract negotiations which directly impact SG profit margins
  • Completes, stores, and shares administrative documents and logistical contract signature duties related to specific commodity group
  • Develop professional relationships with business owners and internal clients, managing related activities (customer management) and participating in monthly and as requested strategy meetings with internal clients
  • Independently gather and analyze market/financial data from internal and external sources to effectively manage assigned commodity area (Benchmarking)
  • Proactively seeks new/alternate sources of supply while establishing alliances and managing supplier relations

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Liaison with other groups while negotiating a contract (Legal, Third-Party Risk, Compliance etc.)
  • Participate in group projects (i.e., contribute to the Sourcing Transformation, process improvement etc.)

COMPETENCIES

Required:

  • Must have strong general experience and knowledge of the sourcing process
  • Proficiency in contract terms and condition negotiations and drafting
  • Excellent analytical and strategic skills
  • Influential with regards to Internal Stakeholders and External Suppliers
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independently in an aggressive environment
  • Excel at analyzing the commodity of spend for savings opportunities and/or service improvement, develop actionable plans, solicit necessary stakeholder support, execute the plan through sourcing/negotiation
  • Must have the ability to work well within a team, with global involvement

Technical Skills

Required:

  • Basic Office Applications, MS Excel, MS Word, etc.
  • Experience with Procurement/Sourcing related applications

Prior Work Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of (5) years’ sourcing experience with relevant category knowledge
  • Strong overall sourcing acumen

EDUCATION

Required:

  • Experience equivalent to a BS degree

Desired:

  • B.S. in Business or other related field of Study

Languages: French, English

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
