Our client, a leader in Healthcare Diagnostics located in Toronto's West End has engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit a Product Analyst for Software Requirements. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation complimented by leading edge open-source HRIS software.

Overview: The Software Product Analyst is responsible for analyzing, evaluating and aiding in the development of software products to meet the needs of the company and its customers. He/she is responsible for creating user-oriented software requirements and specifications and, as required, the testing of products designed to meet those requirements. Testing responsibilities include developing validation & verification plans, reports, and test scripts, and executing those plans and test scripts manually or by using automated testing tools. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the creation and validation of user and regulatory documentation for each software release.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development and execution of project schedules by providing estimation inputs for timely delivery of documentation.
  2. Work with other groups or individuals within and outside the Diagnostics software department to elicit requirements and specifications details.
  3. Assist software developers in interpreting requirements during the design, development, and unit/integration testing phases.
  4. Facilitate resolution to requirements conflicts between stakeholder groups.
  5. Generate requirements and specification documentation.
  6. Assist in the development of software product documentation releases through written contributions and editorial input.
  7. Participate in risk management activities.
  8. Assist in the development of V&V plans.
  9. Execute test procedures (manual or automated) and generate required test reports.
  10. Ensure and provide evidence of traceability from high level requirements through to software requirements/specifications and test cases.
  11. Assist (review or authoring) in the development of test reports.
  12. Record anomaly reports that are received from external sources or identified during testing.

Education: Bachelor's Degree (Software, Engineering, or related discipline).

Experience: Industry experience in development and application of analytical instrumentation (medical instrumentation preferred but not mandatory).

Skills:

  • 3-5 Years of Experience.
  • Knowledge of key elements of effective software requirements/specifications and testing.
  • Experience of one or more full product development lifecycles working in a Quality and/or regulated environment.
  • Formal requirements engineering training or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
