Netskrt is seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer (Observability) based in Vancouver, BC to be part of our platform team. If you are passionate about building metrics and log collection systems, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our technology landscape. This is a hybrid office role based downtown.

We are a highly motivated team dedicated to delivering products and services that improve customer experience when accessing internet video at the edge of the network. We have also developed a set of inter-related technologies targeting businesses that offer Wi-Fi to their customers but have limited bandwidth.

Netskrt offers the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience with storage, networking, security, and cloud technologies. As part of the Netskrt team, you will have the opportunity to design and implement solutions to solve challenging problems in a startup environment working alongside accomplished engineers and a leadership team with a proven history of success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain metrics and log collection systems
  2. Integrate data collection systems with various platforms and services
  3. Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and patterns
  4. Develop and implement solutions to improve system performance and efficiency
  5. Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  6. Monitor and troubleshoot system issues
  7. Stay up to date on the latest technologies and best practices in observability engineering

Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience:

  1. Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  2. 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
  3. Strong understanding of distributed systems, Kubernetes and cloud computing.
  4. Experience with ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or similar log and metrics collection and analysis tools
  5. Experience with VictoriaMetrics or similar time-series databases
  6. Proficiency in administering and deploying to Kubernetes
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Rust, Go or similar system programming languages
  2. Containerization
  3. VictoriaMetrics, ELK, Grafana
