Software Development Test Engineer (Hybrid)

Markets Business Risk and Control Technology Inventory team provides solutions that underpin the documentation and regulatory obligations for everything relating to e-trading within Citi.

Role Overview/What will you do:

1. A senior software development engineer in test (SDET) on the application responsible for business book of work delivery focusing on quality assurance using automation testing tools, currently Cypress.
2. Champion best practices in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). Foster a culture of quality through developer-led automated testing initiatives. Drive continuous improvement in SDLC, agile and DevOps processes to enhance team efficiency and software delivery.
3. Act as a direct partner with the development team to ensure robust automation testing solutions are delivered.
4. Analyse business requirements to determine comprehensive testing strategy.
5. Oversee the creation and maintenance of project and technical documentation.
6. Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
7. Execute manual test runs when required and proactively introduce into automation framework.

Key Skills and Experience required

1. Cypress & JavaScript Development are essential.
2. Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications.
3. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of application automation and able to act as a mentor to those upskilling.

1. Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate and have experience working in fast paced development environments.
2. Ability to work autonomously.
3. Ability to interact with tech lead and deliver results, progressing a build to production with quality assured.
4. You have an appetite for taking on challenges and leveraging new technologies.
5. You have experience working in fast paced development environments.
6. You agree that verbal and written communication skills are vital.

Experience in any number of additional technologies (listed below) is advantageous:

1. Cloud Technologies (Kubernetes, Open Shift)
2. Database / Data Store / Data Query Technologies (SQL Server, Mongo, S3)
